That blue inhaler….

Every asthmatic hears that throw away comment of “just take your inhaler” or “have a puff” but little do people know the value of that inhaler or a few puffs.

I went to the theatre to see The Lion King (absolutely epic) but we were running late so had to run/walk to get there in time. As it was a shock we were so late there was no time to pre medicate and prepare myself for that short run. I managed about 50 yards and not a very fast pace and could feel my lungs burning and tightening and found myself fighting for breath. I had to stop and walk for a bit. I felt awful not physically so much as that resolved with ventolin but mentally. We rely so heavily on ventolin and it’s effects. It is pretty shocking that just the help of that £1.50 or less piece of plastic with a canister in it can help so much. It can make the difference between life and death.

I am ever so greatful for that little thing called Salbutamol aka Ventolin- it’s value should never be under estimated. Neither should the disease it is treating.
